First up in this week’s round up is the amazing work done by Sacha Lord and United We Stream. In it’s first 4 weekends £260,000 was raised, with over 8 million viewers. What an achievement!
Next up we wanted to touch base about tourism post #Covid19. We caught up with the Liverpool Bid Company and Visit Liverpool to hear more about the impact on Liverpool. It’s pretty much as we thought, but so inspiring to hear about the Liverpool spirit of collaboration helping build confidence in a new environment that is #covid friendly. There’s some hope yet!
Sadly we’ve been hearing a lot about the rate increase given to Altrincham Market by Trafford Council. We were saddened to hear of this 485% increase due to a change in how the business was assessed, however it’s important to note that the rates have been set by national government, not Trafford Council, and hopefully there will be some wiggle room for the hugely popular market.
We will leave the week with these beautifully painted blue post boxes from Royal Mail! There are five in total, and each location has been chosen to represent all four nations of the UK and to commemorate the Trafford General Hospital, the birthplace of the NHS, founded by Aneurin “Nye” Bevan in Manchester in July 1948.
