Industry Round Up 25.11.19

This week has been great for Liverpool, with a brand new Monopoly game launched featuring some of the most iconic buildings and landmarks in the city, and also news that Paul McCartney is headlining Glastonbury – our friends in Liverpool are most excited about this!

In award news, we’re delighted to hear that Chef Lisa Goodwin-Allen from Northcote Manor was awarded Hotel Chef of the Year at the Hotel Cateys – we’ve eaten there numerous times, and the food is always spot on. Well done Lisa, very well deserved!

Something we feel strongly about in our industry is constructive feedback, and unfortunately there are times when poorly placed negative reviews can really affect a restaurant or hotel’s business. This week Chef Damian Wawrzyniak has launched a petition for popular review site Trip Advisor to demand proof of payment at time of writing:

Lastly, we heard this week that brewer Northern Monk have launched the UK’s most expensive bottle of beer at £1000 per 300ml. We thought this was crazy – until we found out that 100% of the proceeds from every bottle will be donated to local charities! An amazing and innovative idea from Northern Monk, and we hope it raises sizeable amounts!
