A week in the life – Client Services Director

Meet Lianne Dempsey, our Client Services Director. We caught up with her to find out more about her role at GB Hospitality, her clients and what makes her tick outside the office…

“In my role as Client Services Director, I love the variety of work that presents itself. I could begin the week working closely with clients on heavily detailed work, such as strategy planning, and financial business discussions and finish the week with my creative head on, building memorable campaigns or on location for a photoshoot (I’m also a professional photographer and videographer)!

People often comment how I’m able to ‘dip in and out’ of things so quickly, but working within a fast-paced industry, this has all become second nature to me, and is a skill required when managing a number of large clients at the same time. Each client has their allocated time in my diary, but this is never limited, and I will always try my best to go above and beyond and responds to everything as best I can. Each of my clients are equally important.

A ‘typical’ week for me means in person visits to each of my clients, ensuring that we are on the same page, that the focus is right for both GB Hospitality and the client. Mid-week, Gaynor, Hannah and I will meet at our team catch up to maintain our focus on the GB Hospitality client portfolio at which point we measure the results of agreed objectives, share ideas of how we can support our industry charity, Hospitality Action, as well as inspiration and best practise observed whilst out in the field. We never stand still, we always keep learning.

At GB Hospitality, no day is the same and I honestly wouldn’t have it any other way! Making a difference to business owners and directors by identifying areas that were previously unthought of, continues to be a highlight of my working week – seeing that spark light up when people understand the big picture and how we can help them get there”.

Outside of work, Lianne is an avid volunteer with the Scouts and is a leader for her local Beavers group, helping to deliver a fun, engaging and challenging programme of activities for 6 – 8-year-olds, Lianne commented “I first became involved when my son joined, but quickly realised the role that community volunteers play with these types of organisations, and I’ve never looked back! On top of the rewarding experience of seeing young people learn new skills, I’ve been fortunate enough to take part in lots of activities such as canoeing, rock climbing, orienteering, and camps away – it’s a whole other world from my role as Client Services Director!”
